Description
Description
CLASSIFICATION: Quality brand wine with a protected designation of origin D.S.C.,red, dry
VARIETY: Alibernet, Dunaj, Merlot, Blaufränkisch
TASTE AND SENSORY ATTRIBUTES:
Dark crimson-red color, nose full of charming fruity-balsamic aromas of cherries, cranberries, plums and mullberries with notes of licorice, poppy and roasted chestnuts. The wine´s rich and complex flavor with high extract is influenced by a rewarding vintage, excellent ripeness of the grapes, slow maceration on skins at low temperature, as well as by the unique maturing process of the resulting cuvée in older and new oak barrels. Velvety sweet tannins and higher alcohol content that are in nice harmony with delicate juicy and long aftertaste create a unique elegance.
MEAL SUGGESTION:
Grilled flank steak with warm salad of asparagus, peas and tomatoes with a reduction of red wine, served with mashed potatoes; slowly roasted brisket in red wine sauce with saffron aioli and grilled sweet potatoes
WINE SERVING: Served at 15-17°C in red wine goblets with a volume of 500-650ml; decanting is recommended to delicately open up the wine´s aromas and flavors
BOTTLE MATURATION: 5 and more years
WINEMAKERS´S DIARY:
A complex, robust and at the same time elegant wine in attibutive quality produced as an assemblage of wine varieties (Alibernet, Dunaj, Merlot, Blaufränkisch) from grapes from our own vineyards, processed at the best of their technological maturity. Longer maceration on skins at low temperature, followed by slow fermentation and blending through 13 months of thorough maturation in big 5 000 liter barrique oak barrels that were used several times before, enabled us to produce an unique cuvée worthy of top gourmet and degustation events. The 2012 vintage will do well with several years of aging in bottle to develop a tertiary beautiful bouquet. Until then, you may taste the wine regularly at various occasions.
